Poppy Bloomshroom is a Gnome Ranger, and current member of the Pumped-Up Honchos. Her primary role in the party currently is acting as it's moral compass, as well as attempting to stop things from getting too out of hand. She has her work cut out for her.

Early Life

Poppy was born and raised in Coralcopper Chase, daughter to Breena, a sage, and Namfoodle, a gemcutter. She spent her early life living there alongside her 15 siblings and at least 100 further relatives.

Ever since she was little Poppy has always had an affinity with nature, due in no small part to her mothers Forest Gnome lineage.

Once Poppy was old enough, she made the decision to not join the family business and instead live up to the Wildwander clan name by leaving to live as an adventurer. Namfoodle was initially against this idea, however he eventually came around and gave her his blessing. This was partially due to the fact adventuring was clearly in their blood given the Wildwander clan name, but mostly because he ultimately just wanted his daughter to be happy.

Serving on the The Reckless Princess

It's currently unknown when exactly in her travels Poppy met Captain Hermelynn Balfina of The Reckless Princess, but what is known is that they quickly grew a strong bond, eventually finding Poppy promoted to First Mate aboard the ship.

They went on many adventures, primarily focused on locating pirates and reclaiming their ill-gotten gains. On one such adventure the crew came to the aid of a fairy; in return the fairy blessed Poppy's hair to make its natural colour a bright pink.

The crew disbanded on 1 Hammer 1494, when Captain Balfina was picked by The Enclave to act as Lord of the Tower. Poppy wouldn't hear from the now Lady Balfina again until four months later, when she received a letter asking her for a favour.

The Pumped-Up Honchos

After an attempt on her life, Lady Balfina found documents on the would-be assassins bodies which pointed to a parade being held in Tarsalmont to celebrate Merric Swiftshadow. Seeing enemies everywhere the Lady entrusted the job of warning him to the one person she could trust: Poppy. She sent a letter directing her to warn Cathán Blackthorn in Tarsalmont, Merrics head of security.

Speaking to a guard on get arrival in Tarsalmont she headed towards where she was told she could find Blackthorn. On the way she was attacked by what seemed to be a bandit who was heading at a pace away from the place she was heading. After seeing off her attacker she passed a suspicious looking Tiefling that caught her eye. Finally arriving in the small courtyard she found a number of corpses, Blackthorns amongst them. The rest were all dressed similarly to her attacker. Suspecting the Tiefling to be involved she turned and gave chase, but as she closed in on him the bomb that has been planted in a nearby exploded, destroying a good portion of the dock, and leaving Poppy unconscious.

Joining the Honchos

She came to in a prison in Tarsalmont in a cell, alongside several other suspects accused of the murders of both Blackthorn and Swiftshadow himself, as well as a couple of wayward drunks who found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. Protesting her innocence in the strongest possible terms, she came to accept that there was little chance of her talking her way out.

When Varis Nialo offered her and the (sober) prisoners the opportunity to provide help to his sponsor in return her freedom, Poppy reluctantly agreed, stepping through the portal summoned by Varis and finding herself teleported to an unknown island.

Reunion with Lady Balfina

Eventually the Honchos fount themselves heading to Stormlight, where they encountered the PTSD-ridden Lady Balfina, hidden away after the failed attempt on her life. Poppy was disappointed to see her former Captain, who she used to look up to, hiding away from what needed to be done. Through her support and with aid from the other Honchos, Poppy helped start to turn her friend around eventually seeing her spurred into action, firstly during The Bombing of The Black Bear, and then later on the frontlines helping her people when the lights of Stormlight went out.
